Joseph Craig Embrey’s interior and architectural designs reflect his eclectic sensitivity in the blending of a modernist vision with proven classic stylings.

He began his career in New York, where he designed the
corporate offices for EF Hutton. Following the success of this project, Embrey was hired by HOK to lead the design of Sony’s corporate headquarters.

In recent years, Embrey’s major focus has been residential transformations. Now based in the Washington area, his portfolio includes
properties in New York, Washington, and Palm Beach.

Long a believer in the power and utility of modern design,
Embrey’s work defines not only the way a space should look
but also the way it should feel, turning rooms that are merely visible
into places of comfort and distinction.

Embrey’s designs always reflect his vast knowledge of textiles,
furnishings and art, and his ability to collaborate and
understand a client’s needs and budget.

His work with small spaces, including baths and closets, is equally dramatic and functional.

His simple mantra to “make the most of your space” reinforces
design leadership that defines not only the past but also the future.
